Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Law Clerk to join our team. In this role will support a sole practitioner with a robust practice in probate law, trust administration, guardianship and conservatorship, will contests, trust litigation, and estate planning. The ideal candidate is a proactive  self-starter with a knack for problem-solving, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to quickly adapt to new legal matters. This position is hourly, with the expectation of overtime. 
 
Responsibilities - Looking for individuals qualified to fufill the following role

  • Prepare and file legal papers and correspondence, such as probate petitions and cover letters

  • Efile court pleadings

  • Communicate effectively with clients via phone, email and mail to gather and provide necessary information

  • Assists the attorney in information collection and case matter preparation

  • Organizes and maintain clients' files with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality

  • Efficiently scan, photocopy, and manage large volumes of documentation

  • Send documents out for e-signature via Adobe and DocuSign

  • Drafts memos and other legal documents as required to assist attorney

  • Assemble and organize client files on various case matters

  • Support special projects 

  • Assists in preparing statements and declarations

  • Maintain and update legal documentation and records

  • Manage discovery requests and responses

  • Contribute to drafting estate plans and other legal instruments such as deeds

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Strong familiarity with legal procedures, terminology, and the court system

  • Excellent Critical Thinking and judgment skills

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities

  • Proficient typing skills (40-60 WPM)

  • Highly organized with robust documentation management experience

  • Comfortable and professional in client communications

  • Above average proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Experience with Adobe and sending out e-signatures

  • Ability to multitask and perform effectively under high pressure and handle high stress and dynamic environments well

  • Excels at meeting deadlines and completing projects and tasks

  • Productive team player

Responsibilities - Looking for individuals qualified to fulfill the following

Minimum Qualifications
 
  • 1+ years of law firm experience or College Degree from an accredited university (REQUIRED)

  • Ability to process multiple matters simultaneously without confusion

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks efficiently

  • Excellence in client communication and follow-through

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Quick learner with strong technical aptitude

  • Proven efficiency with Tyler Court eFiling system

  • Experience with preparing estate planning documents and Microsoft Word

  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Knowledge of probate and trust accounting
