About the position
I am seeking an experienced paralegal to support probate and trust administration in my Lake Oswego law office. This position is for someone who has done substantive paralegal work and understands the care, organization, and follow-through these matters require.
Required experience
- At least five years of substantive paralegal experience.
- At least one year of hands-on experience administering probates and trusts. This experience may be part of your five years as a paralegal.
Experience limited to transcribing attorney dictation, typing documents, or revising pleadings to incorporate an attorney’s redlines does not satisfy these requirements. This opening is for a paralegal who has taken an active role in moving matters forward under attorney supervision, rather than providing document production or clerical support alone.
Substantive experience means understanding the matter, identifying the information and documents needed, preparing meaningful drafts for attorney review, tracking procedural steps and deadlines, and following through with clients and other parties to help keep the administration moving.
Pay and benefits
Pay is $32–$46 per hour, depending on the length and depth of substantive paralegal experience.
Benefits include paid time off that accrues at 0.0577 hours for every hour worked, including overtime hours, with no cap on accrual and rollover each year; a SIMPLE IRA with an employer match; a monthly contribution toward the health insurance plan you choose, beginning after 45 days; mileage reimbursement when work requires driving; and a company-issued cell phone.
